Costs Of Laser Liposuction

Health experts widely agree that too much of fat is harmful. As a result of this, people who are overweight are urged to lose weight. Fat loss can be achieved via several means. Dieting and exercising are some of the common ways of achieving this. But although these methods are effective they cannot be used for the spot removal of fat. Laser liposuction can. Approved by the FDA, Laser Liposuction is used for the removal of fat in certain parts of the body.

The process involved in Laser Liposuction is fairly simple. The layer of fat that is found beneath the skin is slowly melted with the effects of a laser and then removed. All this is achieved via a tiny 2mm incision made into the skin. If all the melted fat is not removed , the remaining is then flushed out of the body. An anesthetic is normally used.

Even though , laser Liposuction procedures are effective, their range of use is slightly limited. Laser liposuction can only be targeted at specific areas of the body. Very little places outside the neck, face and arms can be treated with laser liposuction. This is why it is not prescribed as a way of losing weight for obese people. Instead its use is applied in only the removal of fat in certain areas of the body. It can easily be used by healthy people who carry little amounts of fat.

The use of laser liposuction is also preferred because it does not result in scarring, pain or muscle damage as found with other treatment varieties. The incision quickly heals and patients are normally found back on their feet within 48hours. Another benefit is the ability of laser liposuction to improve the overall elasticity of the skin. Traditional liposuction procedures to not offer this benefit.

As stated the recovery time of laser lipsuction procedures are very short. Because the incision is really small and done under sterile conditions there is little risk of infections or like complications. Off course you will be required to stay in bed for a period of time to allow your body adjust to the new balance. It is also a good idea, after a successful liposuction session to cut down a little on the chocolates. Or else you just might be back on the table again.

Costs Of Liposuction

Costs Of Liposuction

When there comes a time in your life where you just are not really happy with certain areas of your body, you may begin to think about having a little liposuction done. But while most people are innocently enough considering having these procedures done, no one really understands the liposuction costs involved.

Depending on the area that you want worked on, or the many different areas, you are looking at anywhere from $3,000 to $10,000. The fact of the matter is that unless you have been saving your pennies since childhood, you are more in likely going to have to take out some sort of loan in order to go through with this surgery because liposuction costs a lot of money.

While there are different costs that each surgeon requests for their services, a lot of the costs involved are pretty much universal. But, it is always good to go for a few different consultations in order to make sure what you are paying is an industry standard for the type of procedure you are requesting. But be prepared, because no matter where you go, it is still going to be expensive before liposuction costs a lot of money no matter what. So besides money, because it is going to be expensive no matter how you look at it, you are going to want to make sure that the surgeon himself is a good choice.

Rough Figures for Liposuction Costs

It really does depend what you are going in for but let’s say for example that you really only want to focus on one particular area that you want improved. The general liposuction costs for one area is around $3,500 and that just covers your basic surgeon’s fee, the anesthesiologist, and the basic run of the mill facility fee. Of course, the surgeon is going to get the bulk of that money, as they are the one performing the biggest job. Now, the liposuction costs for three areas is around $7,000 which is not bad for the amount of body mass that can be removed from three areas on the body.

Now, let’s pretend that you are really going for it all and you want to suck out as much as you can while you are under the knife and you are going for five areas on the body. The average liposuction costs for five areas are around $10,000, give or take a little. And let’s not forget that the surgeon is going to try to talk you into getting some additional work done since you are already going to be under and all. If you want to add a buttock lift to your already expensive liposuction costs, you are looking at an additional $5,000 and a tummy tuck is an additional $5,000. But for those on a budget, there is always the laser treatment of leg veins and that is only a small fee of roughly $400.

How Is Tumescent Liposuction Different from Other Liposuction Procedures?

How Is Tumescent Liposuction Different from Other Liposuction Procedures?

Tumescent liposuction involves the surgical removal of excess body fat using a combination of traditional liposuction techniques and tumescent anesthesia. The procedure is relatively new to the cosmetic surgery scene, having come into widespread use in the 1990’s. Tumescent liposuction offers significant benefits over traditional liposuction techniques for its ability to minimize post-operative discomfort, curtail surgical bleeding, and reduce bruising and swelling during the recovery period.

Tumescent liposuction is unique in that it uses large volumes of a dilute solution of lidocaine, paired with the drug epinephrine. The lidocaine serves as a local anesthetic, eliminating the need for patients to go under general anesthesia. The epinephrine serves to temporarily restrict capillaries, thereby reducing bleeding during the surgery. This combination allows surgeons to perform liposuction using minimal amounts of sedatives. The lidocaine is retained in the body for several hours after the procedure, giving the patient up to 12 to18+ hours of pain-free recovery. The use of tumescent anesthetic also eliminates the drunken feeling felt by many patients after going under general anesthesia, as well as the nausea felt by traditional liposuction patients.

At the start of the procedure, the surgeon anesthetizes the skin at select locations using tiny needles. Once the skin has been numbed, longer needles are used to anesthetize the subcutaneous fat with large quantities of the dilute lidocaine and epinephrine solution. Patients are frequently given a mild sedative, such as Valium to help relax them during the procedure. Once the areas to be treated are completely numb, the doctor begins the liposuction. Small holes, called adits, are made in the skin using round skin biopsy punches to form access sites for the liposuction microcannulas. A microcannula is a very small stainless steel tube, ranging from 1mm to 3mm in diameter, designed to effectively remove small amounts of fat. Fat is suctioned out of the body in small tunnels through the microcannula, leaving the fibrous strands attached to the skin and muscles intact. Once the desired fat has been suctioned out, the microcannulas are removed. Since the adits are such small holes, there is no need for sutures using this method. This actually serves to speed up the healing process since drainage can occur via the adits, greatly reducing the amount of swelling and bruising of the treated areas.

Tumescent liposuction, as with any other type of surgical procedure, does carry some risks. Patients should expect some side-effects from the procedure such as bruising, swelling, and temporary numbness of the treated areas. Significant drainage will occur in areas where adits were formed. Some skin irregularities may result from the procedure, though this side-effect is greatly reduced with the use of both the tumescent anesthesia and microcannulas. Other, more serious side-effects can include blood clots, infection, and allergic reactions to the anesthesia.

Then there are some surgeons who structure their fees on the amount of fat being removed.

Owing to the different ways of determining the liposuction costs, the patient must have a comprehensive discussion on the price prior to the surgery. The patients should make sure that they are comfortable with the conditions on which the price was quoted.

Let us sum up the different factors on which the total liposuction cost may be dependent. Geography, surgeon fees, hospital fees, anesthesia costs, garments, medications, etc. are the different factors. So, while discussing the cost before hand, if you feel the price quoted to you is low, do not hesitate to ask what is included in the fees and what will be additional costs.

If you feel it is time for you to contour and remodel your body, then go for liposuction and of course verify the prices in advance. However, in spite of the tempting aspect of a newly shaped body, you must know that the recovery process may be somewhat uncomfortable.

It usually takes a few weeks to get back into action. There are certain medications that might help in assuaging the pain. So just take your time to get back to your old, normal routine.

Although, liposuction can bring about a change in your life for the better, make sure you pay the right cost and the money spent will be worth it!
