Understanding The Tumescent Liposuction Procedure

One liposuction procedure that stands out and has been recognized world wide as the technique with the greatest amount of safety, the fastest recovery, the least amount of pain and of course the best results is the Tumescent liposuction method. If you are attempting to make an informed decision about surgery, then it requires that you feel confident in your understanding of the procedure and this one is fairly easy to grasp.

Liposuction is often referred to as body sculpture and is heralded as a dream come true. If you have localized areas of accumulated fat that even dieting and exercising will not remove, then it is likely an inherited trait, which until recently you were stuck with no matter what.

Liposuction surgery has made tremendous strides since its inception, such as being able to perform the procedure in an outpatient operation center rather than a hospital. A great plus for the Tumescent procedure is that most patients will be able to walk out of the center or doctors office within 30 minutes after the procedure and should be able to go back to work within a day or two.

It is also interesting to note that for both women and men this is a very popular choice. In women, the most commonly treated areas for liposuction procedures are the abdomen, thighs, knees, hips, calves and ankles. Chin liposuction has also become popular. For men, the most commonly treated areas are “love handles,” the abdomen, breast and the chin, as well as neck liposuction.

The body fat of an adult usually increases gradually over the years and normally after the age of 30 much of the fat is the result of a genetically predetermined pattern. Unfortunately, this fat distribution tends to be resistant to exercising and dieting. For many individuals who have inherited this trait a liposuction procedure is the only realistic means of changing their body.

Fat cells that are removed during liposuction do not grow back. As long as you do not gain an excessive amount of weight, the results are permanent. If there is one complaint that most patients have in common, then it is the fact that due to post surgical swelling the ultimate results normally require 12 to 16 weeks to become completely apparent.

Many surgeries require the use of general anesthesia, which may result in complications and nausea. However, the Tumescent liposuction technique gathers much of its popularity by using local anesthesia only. Most patients claim that there is less pain involved when a local anesthesia is used.

As with any surgical procedure, liposuction operation is associated with some common side-effects, such as bruising, temporary numbness and swelling. And while some irregularities of the skin are possible after liposuction, this side-effect is minimized, along with other side-effects like infections, bleeding and nerve injury by using the Tumescent technique. Perhaps one of the most appealing aspects of this procedure is the minimal downtime involved, which those individuals with busy lifestyles really appreciate.

After surgery for liposuction using general anesthesia, a patient may experience nausea and pain. Using local anesthesia during Tumescent liposuction produces virtually no blood loss and little to no nausea.

Because it does take some extra time to locally inject the anesthesia, a patient may remain on the surgical table longer than someone who had general anesthesia administered. Fortunately, the recovery time after a Tumescent surgery is shorter that one using general anesthesia so the time spent is still pretty much the same.

Chin liposuction is a procedure that could eliminate the excess fats and loose, saggy skin of upper necks. Just like other liposuction procedures, chin liposuction involves minimum pain, allows for a faster recovery time and provides an effective way of getting rid of unwanted fats on the chin.

While the muscle tone of chins can be improved through exercise, the collection of fat under the chin or upper neck remains. However, since fats from the chin are very difficult to get rid of, chin liposuction may be your last resort.

Although other methods, such as chin tucks and facelifts, can be used in keeping those double chins off, the most advanced and newest method is the chin liposuction. By undergoing chin liposuction, there will be lesser scarring, but a faster recovery.

The Advantages of Chin Liposuction

When a patient chooses chin liposuction, he or she should expect smaller incisions compare to those used in facelifts. These small incisions, which heal very quickly, are possible due to smaller instruments used in new liposuction methods. Another advantage of chin liposuction is that incisions are generally placed in rarely visible areas.

When the surgeon recommends chin liposuction using the tumescent technique, you will be placed under local anesthesia, but you will experience little bleeding and lesser tissue trauma. As a result, patients could quickly go back to normal daily activities after a surgery.

Although most patients are required to take at least two days off from work after a chin liposuction procedure, they are easily able to perform daily tasks during that time. Unlike the potential risks of a facelift, chin liposuction produces minimal bruising or swelling that quickly subsides.

After a chin liposuction, a special protection garment is worn for a day or two. This elastic, protective chinstrap is used in providing patients with gentle pressure for the first few days prior to surgery. However, this strap is immediately taken off after a few days and then no special maintenance or care is required.

Although facelift has been a procedure used for decades, the advancements of chin liposuction surgery gives way to a more effective and less traumatic option of removing those unwanted double chins.

People build up excess fats in their bodies, which are not discarded generally through dieting and exercising. In the 1980s, dermatologists formulated a new method of liposuction known as tumescent liposuction as a way for removing excess fat.

Tumescent liposuction is believed to be a reliable and effective surgical procedure. This technique is gaining recognition and acceptance. This is because this method has minimal side effects when compared to the conventional liposuction.

Cannulas need to be inserted in the areas where excess fat is accumulated. Tiny openings are formed on the affected skin area. Then the cannulas are inserted into the skin through these tiny openings.

A general anesthesia, lidocaine, and epinephrine are introduced in the body parts. The fluids push the areas where the excess fat is accumulated and discards it from the body with little bleeding. After the surgery, the treated area remains numb for around thirty-six hours with no additional painkillers or lidocaine.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Tumescent Liposuction:

The advantages are as follows:

1. It uses a diluted solvent of general anesthesia and several other medicaments for filling the areas containing excess fat before. Thus, the tissues become strong and puffy. 2. The time for healing is short. 3. It involves minimal fluid and blood loss. 4. The anesthesia administered does not cause any sickness or other side effects. 5. Lidocaine is an antibacterial medication that minimizes the probabilities of illness. 6. Endovenous fluid substitution is not essential. 7. The puffiness eliminates the probability of a secondary treatment. 8. The small sized incisions have minimal bruises. 9. This process eliminates the need for the patient to stay at the hospital. 10. Since the individual stays conscious during the surgery, the cosmetologists have an advantage because they can tell the patients to shift sides for good sculpting. 11. There is little uneasiness, bleeding, or scars. 12. This treatment is perhaps the best way to discard fat. 13. Local anesthesia not only minimizes the pain but also the inflammation and skin abnormalities.

Though it is well known and popular, it has certain disadvantages. It might lead to minor problems like dimpling, numbness, unevenness, infections, skin irregularities, and bruises. All these are rare incidents that can be treated safely and easily. A patient can also have the risk of fluid accumulation and lidocaine toxicity. The latter surfaces if the solvent has high lidocaine content that interrupts the body in the metabolism process.

The professional cosmetic surgeons have various cosmetic, rehabilitative, non-surgical and surgical ways for mending the transformation of the skin. It is very important to consult a cosmetic surgeon before going in for this surgery. Only an experienced and professional surgeon has the authority for performing this surgery.

Cosmetic surgeries are increasingly becoming the number one method of acheiving a beauty standard. Many women and a significant amount of men are getting cosmetic surgery done. A significant amount of people of all ages and genders are receiving liposuction services. Among the many types of cosmetic services that are being performed chin liposuction is one of the simpliest.

When seeking to have chin liposuction done make sure that your cosmetic surgeon is one that is licensed and board certified. Chin liposuction is an quick easy and highly effective method for removing excess fat from under the chin area. Chin liposuction can tighten sagging skin and remove excess fat that can enable you to acheive that fabulous chisled jawline that you desire. Many people exercise daily trying to acheive a sleek defined jawline only to acheive minimal results. The tumescent method is used to help people acheive this sleek classic look. The tumescent technique is a method where the surgeon cuts a small incision under the chin. This incision is made using a tool called a cannula and a local anesthetic is used.

The tumescent technique is done with local anestetic using a small instrument called a cannula. The technique pumps a solution below the skin in the area that is going to be suctioned. This solution is a salt water saline and is added with local anesthetic to numb the area and the fat is then suctioned out through small suction tubes called microcannulas. The procedure is also one that can be had in combination with other aesthetic surgeries. The tumescent procedure is becoming a highly popular method because of its relative safety, however no surgery is 100 % and patients should make sure that they ask questions and do the necessary research, so they feel more comfortable about the procedure and their doctor.

When the patient is undergoing chin liposuction they are given a local anesthetic, after the procedure is done a light elastic wrap is given to the patient to wear for a few days. There is light bruising however recovery is relatively quick and many patients are able to go back to work after a few days.
